Pulsar Install Problems
If you purchased the Pulsar Plus prior to June 2009 we recommend you upgrade to the new Pulsar Plus Version 2 (free upgrade), which solves many issues from the previous version.
The Comm Port error is fixed on the new version along with other issues. The old fix for the comm port error is shown below:
Install Error Message
If you recieve a similar error message (on install of the software) to the one shown below then you need to log out of the computer and log in locally as administrator then try again; i.e. not on your network domain. If you are unsure of this then ask your system administrator (or IT department) to do it for you.

Comm Port Error
This is a fault that we are working on a fix for.
Below is a picture of the fault.

Currently the only way around this is to first open device manager:
Go to your "Start Menu" and select "Run"
Type in: devmgmt.msc
This should open Device Manager. Note; If you are using Windows Vista you may need to click "Continue" to get to it.
Expand "Ports (Com & LPT)" and TAKE NOTE of what comm port the "USB to Serial Bridge" is on, e.g. (COM4)
Close this down and now go to your "My Computer"
Navigate to the installed Pulsar files, e.g. C:\Program Files\Pulsar Plus
Open the file named "Pulsar" (or "Pulsar.ini" - this is a configuration file)
On the second line where it says Port=1 change this to the number you saw in the device manager. Go to "File" and "Save".
Note; If an error message appears here then you need to close this down, right click on the pulsar file and go to properties. Then go to the "Security" tab, highlight "Users" and click "Edit". Highlight "Users" again and tick the "Full Control" box. Now click "Ok" and then "Ok" again to exit. Try the "pulsar" file edit again.
Now when you open the Pulsar Plus program it should open normally.
