This page is designed to show you what settings should be configured on the sound card of your computer

Double click the Volume Control icon in the bottom right hand side of your
computer screen. It should look like one of the above icons.
This will open the Volume Control window and should look a little like this:

The names of these controls may be different for the above and the amount of controls will also vary from PC to PC.
1 - Select "Options" and then "Properties" from the pull-down menu this will display a new window.
2 - Select "Recording" (as shown below)
3 - Ensure the Microphone and Line-in are selected and then click "OK".

Now you should be a screen called "Recording Control" (1.3)
1 - Select "Options" then check that "Advanced Controls" is ticked in the pull-
down menu.

If "Advanced Controls" is ticked
then the "Advanced" button should
be shown under the Microphone
controls as seen in image 1.3 (below).

3 - Ensure that the "Select" box under Microphone (just above the "Advanced" button) is ticked and that your Pulsar Plus hardware is connected into the Microphone input (usually a red socket).
4 - IMPORTANT - If using the handset connection set the volume slider to the top (full volume), or if you are using the telephone line connection then set it at half way.
5 - Click the "Advanced" button.

6 - Make sure the "Microphone Boost" is NOT checked. If you have a PC with more than
one microphone input, both will
be listed in the "Other Controls"
box. Number 1 is generally the
microphone input at the rear of
the PC.

Right click the Volume Control icon in the bottom right hand side of your computer screen. It should look like one of the above icons.

1 - Select "Recording Devices" as shown above in image 2.1

2 - Click on where you have your Pulsar Plus connected into. As shown above it says "Working" below "Microphone" so we know this is where the Pulsar is connected into. Once selected click "Properties" as shown in image above (2.2).

3 - Under the "Levels" tab make sure that "Microphone Boost" is set to 0.0 dB
4 - IMPORTANT - If using the handset connection set the "Microphone" volume slider to full (100) or if you are using the telephone line connection then set it at half way (50).
5 - Click "OK" and exit out of the sound card settings.
