Problems with Saved Speech Recording Files

If you have gone onto the "Advanced" Tab and have tried to play the recordings but they fail to play.

Please check the following steps to ensure your setup is correct:

1 - Check that your speakers are connected into your computer (usually through the green 3.5mm input)

2 - Check that your Volume Control is set to a suitable level on both the speakers and your sound card (this can be set by clicking on the speaker in the bottom left of your screen usually next to the clock)

3- Play some wav files or a CD using Windows Media Player to check you have sound coming out of your speakers.

4 - Next check that PULSAR PLUS is connected correctly and that the audio lead is connected into the 3.5mm sound card Mic input (usually coloured red).

5 - Check the sound card settings on your PC so that you are recording from the Mic input.

Note. Check to see if you have a microphone input (red socket) on the front of your computer and on the back. if you do this means you have 2 sound cards on the computer (which is quite common). Try and plug the Pulsar Plus 3.5mm mic lead into the other mic input.

To Backup Your Recorded Files

1 - First you will need to locate the saved speech recordings file - see the "Can't Find Where the Recordings are Saved" section for more info.

2 - Once found you have several options to backuping up the files. Some suggestions are listed below:

- Burn the files to CD / DVD

- Copy the files to a portable hard-drive

- Copy the files to another computer / laptop

- If in a business network (and if you have the permission of your network administrator) you could copy the files to a shared network drive.

NOTE - Please do not contact Crucible-Technologies on support for how to burn CD's / DVD's, etc. You must contact your relevant PC support company. Alternatively you may find info pages at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/default.aspx.
